I went to Italy in the summer of 98 for a conference in Trieste. Trieste is located on the Adratic Sea near the border with Croatia. Two of my students, Sam Towell and Becky Masterson, had papers in the conference.
To get to the conference, Becky and I drove up from Rome. We stopped along the way at Hadrian's Villa, Pisa, and Florence.
