Mobile Boom Crane

Mobile boom cranes are extremely useful cranes that are used all over the world. They are used in construction, manufacturing plants, and many other material-handling applications. However, they are also one of the most complicated cranes to control because they have rotational joints. The small-scale mobile boom crane shown in the Figure above has been constructed for use in education and research. It has a mobile base with rear-wheel drive and front-wheel steering. A slewing base that rotates with respect to the mobile base. A boom that rotates in a plane vertical to the slewing base. And like all cranes, it also has a suspension cable that lifts and lowers the payload.

This site will provide details of all aspects of this mobile boom crane. Use the tabs on the top left to navigate through the site.
