Viewing the Webcast
To open the webcast embedded in a browser window, simply click the link above. It should open with Quicktime 7 inside of your chosen browser. If it does not work, and you are sure that your computer meets the requirements outlined below, an alternate method is right-clicking on the like and selecting "save as..." to save the file to your computer. You can then double click on it to open it in a dedicated Quicktime window. You can also use this method if you prefer to view in a dedicated window. One main advantage to this is that you can resize the window. Keep in mind, however, that because of network considerations the video is streamed at a fairly low resolution; expanding the Quicktime window will make this more evident.
Webcast Requirements and Troubleshooting
Quicktime 7 is required to view the webcast. It is available from Apple as a free download for both Windows and Macintosh computers. 
There will be several breaks in the webcast as the camera is repositioned. One break that will occur is between the presentation of the rules by Dr. Singhose and the judging of the machines, approximately 4:55-5:15pm. Another break will come between the judging of the machines and the competition itself, between 5:50 and 6:10pm. Breaks will also likely occur during the competition when cameras are repositioned and/or tapes need to be changed. So, if you attempt to connect during competition and are unable, it is best to try again 5-10 minutes later.
The streaming server at Georgia Tech operates with limited bandwidth. This means that:
- Several attempts to connect may be necessary, depending on the amount of network traffic at the time. If the connection fails after trying several times, wait 5-10 minutes and attempt again.
- The connection may drop out from time to time. If this happens, simply reconnect to the stream using one of the methods outlined above.
